Traditional Woodsman and Asbell Wool have collaborated to create what we believe is the ultimate day pack, the Traditional Woodsman Sling Pack. Using Asbell's Extra Heavy Weight Woodland Magic wool, this pack blends well in your treestand, ground blind, or when you are slipping through the woods.
The Sling Pack has been updated to have a little more room inside, and a few more pockets outside. Inside, it will carry your spare jacket, lunch, binoculars, safety harness and strap, all of the items you need in the field.
Functional and Resilient
We chose the "Sling Pack" style as opposed to the standard two-strap backpack style because we USE the things in our day pack. We don't always have time to unsling a backpack to access something that should be handy. I realized this while using prototype #1 during a Nebraska and Michigan turkey season. The pack would hold a decoy, and the outside pockets held calls, strikers, etc. I could sling the pack around to my front, and access everything immediately. I loved it.
This deer season I have been giving our final design a workout - in the ugly southern Michigan public land swamps, and the rugged western Upper Peninsula, the home of our ShrewHaven camp. I am a mobile hunter, whether from the ground or with an ultra light treestand.
The outside pockets keep flashlights, knives, saws, licenses, and your grunt call - all very handy and easy to access.
It is completely adjustable and suitable for right or left hand carry.
